@MegaZoneEXE Non-ablative laser treatments, such as with the Fraxel, can help acne scars in patients with African skin tones, but ablative lasers like CO2 are very risky and should be avoided.

What exactly causes scars? Why does acne sometimes cause scars and other times it doesn’t. Also, what causes the different types of scars (crater vs. ice-pick scars)?

Hey doc. So I’m 15 years old and have had very bad acne on my face and back. I have went to my dermatologist to have them treated but now I’m left with what you call "crater" scars on my back. I was wondering how much is it gonna cost me to have the laser surgery on my back to have them removed?
